Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) (Injectable)

Novarel® (chorionic gonadotropin) Novarel® (chorionic gonadotropin)

What is Novarel®?
During an assisted reproductive cycle (ART), Novarel® is used to induce egg maturation and trigger ovulation (the release of an egg(s) from the ovary) in women who have been treated with ovulation inducing medications.

Ovidrel® (choriogonadotropin alfa) Ovidrel® (choriogonadotropin alfa)

What is Ovidrel®?
Ovidrel® is indicated for the induction of final follicle maturity and early luteinization in infertile women who have been pretreated with ovulation inducing medications as part of an assisted reproductive technology program (ART). It is also indicated for the induction of ovulation and pregnancy in anovulatory infertile patients in whom the cause of infertility is functional and not due to primary ovarian failure.

PREGNYL® (chorionic gonadotropin) for Intramuscular Injection

Pregnyl® is an injectable, highly purified preparation of human chorionic gonadotropin. It mimics the normal surge of luteinizing hormone (LH) that occurs mid-way through a normal menstrual cycle, and causes ovulation to begin.

It is the next step after follicle stimulation with an injectable gonadotropin, such as Follistim® AQ Cartridge (follitropin beta injection).  Although follitropin beta in the Follistim® AQ Cartridge (follitropin beta injection) causes the follicles to mature, it does not induce ovulation. Pregnyl® helps to induce ovulation and release the mature egg from the follicle.
